Sendgrid is solid
I used Sendgrid for about 2 years and had great delivery rates, uptime and support via Sendgrid. The price point is also very good and the API / webhooks make integration easy.
My only beef is that the website and user experience can be a little hard to navigate and get used to. But I hear they are working on updating it.

it's a no-brainer
Once upon a time I wrote a web app, it was an awesome web app, and lots of people started using it. I setup Postfix to send some password resets, and other such transactional mail... which was cool... until I realized that tons of my emails weren’t making it into my users inboxes.
I used my pro googling skills, and found out that a bunch of people have solved this very same problem with some sort of black magic called SendGrid. I tore into some SG docs, and realized in short work that not only would using sendgrid solve my problem, but it would substantially reduce the amount of effort it would take me to implement an email delivery system... so I punched Postfix in the face... inserted some code to make a quick RESTish API call, and boom, problem solved, disaster averted, awesomeness maintained.
