See,s to lack a lot of options for personalizing or adjusting microphone sensitivity and re-routing calls.

Spencer Kitchen's review of Google Voice
I am pleased with the simple use and setup of Google Voice. It took me less than 20 minutes to understand the product and to personalize the settings. A common problem of VoIP, lesser quality in the voice quality, also plagues Google Voice.

Adam J. Griff, Ph.D.'s review of Google Voice
Google Voice is a great way to have one number that rings all your phones. You don’t need to have separate work, home, and mobile phone numbers. Can ring friends homes you are visiting who live in cell free zones. You can filter incoming calls to specified phones based on caller group and time of day. You can screen calls and answer like the old days. Have custom messages for each caller. Receive text messages and have transcriptions of messages so you can read them if you are on another call. When you call out the google voice number can be your caller id so no one is the wiser.
