Ombud is a Social Evaluation platform for Enterprise Business Technology that enables people engaged with enterprise technology to showcase their experience, while also tapping the knowledge of other domain experts. With its social research approach, Ombud brings transparency to the notoriously opaque market research process. Ombud's beta testing program opened to the public in December 2011.

The company was founded in the spring of 2011 by Thad Eby, Brenda Harms and Thomas Reilly and is headquartered in Boulder, CO. Ombud is privately funded. The name is derived from Ombudsman, "a person who acts as a trusted intermediary between an organization and some internal or external constituency while representing not only but mostly the broad scope of constituent interests." The cofounders have a history of successful startups.

At Ombud, management fully supports the employees so your career is a top priority, no matter where your passion takes you (although we prefer that talented people stay with us). We work hard and we play hard: the CEO brews us beer and we are proud of our hard work. Your work will never go un-used and we update the site weekly with our developers' work. The office is a fantastic place to come to work everyday: we have immediate access to Boulder Creek, trails for mid-day hikes (and showers) and downtown restaurants. The team is absolutely wonderful to work with, and we have friendly dogs that hang out with us at the office. You make your own way at Ombud: although we all work towards the same goals, each of us designs and executes on goals in unique ways. The freedom and autonomy can be scary for some and exciting for people who will fit in well here at Ombud.

Finally, innovation and contribution go hand in hand. We work closely with Open Source technologies and want to give back anything we create. We want you to contribute 10% of your effort to the Open Source Community (which means we will give you time to contribute).
